Kara earned the MVP of the tournament as she hammered down an amazing 51 kills in two matches to lead the Tigers to their third tournament championship of the season. Uhl's best performance came in the championship match as her career-high 38 kills lifted the Tigers to a 3-2 win over Cincinnati on Nov. 24. During the match, Uhl set a new Pacific record with 93 swings, breaking the record set by Elsa Stegemann in 1999. In addition to the tournament MVP, Uhl also earned Big West Player of the Week honors for her effort at the 29th Annual Community Bankers Classic. Kara finished her junior season with 312 kills on the season and a team-leading 3.28 kpg. She posted 13 double-doubles in 2007 and reached double figures in kills in 16 matches. Kara was second on the team with a 0.33 sapg and was second on the team with 302 digs.<b>2006 (Medical Redshirt):</b><br>Kara's 2006 season was cut short in early September as she underwent season-ending surgery on her lower left leg. Prior to her injury, Uhl delivered four double-doubles in five matches. At the Nevada/AT&T Invitational, she posted a season-high 21 digs and 10 kills in Pacific's 3-1 win over Montana on Sept. 2. The following night, Uhl delivered 11 kills and 11 digs in the Tigers' 3-0 loss to host, Nevada. Kara's play earned her a spot on the Nevada/AT&T Invitational All-Tournament Team. Kara posted back-to-back double-doubles in the Tigers' losses to Fresno State (3-0) on Aug. 26 and No. 25 Kansas State (3-0) on Aug. 27. Uhl finished with a 16 kills and 14 digs in the loss to the Wildcats.<b>2005 (Sophomore):</b><br>Kara earned her first post-season award as a sophomore, as she was one of three Tigers named to the All-Big West First Team in 2005. Kara played in 112 of Pacific's 114 games in 2005, finishing second on the team with 353 kills. Kara averaged 3.15 kills per game and also finished second on the team with 3.17 digs per game. Her 355 digs trailed only libero Julie Magud (486). Uhl recorded 12 double-doubles in her first season as a starter, including eight of the final nine matches in 2005. Kara closed her sophomore season with 17 kills and 15 digs in Pacific's 3-2 loss to Saint Mary's on Nov. 26. One night earlier, she had 16 kills and 25 digs in the Tigers' 3-2 loss to Sacramento State. Kara reached her 10th double-double of the season as she had 14 kills and 14 digs in the Tigers' 3-2 win over UC Irvine on Nov. 19. Uhl finished with 24 kills and 15 digs in the Tigers' 3-2 loss to Long Beach State on Nov. 3. Kara also recorded a career-high with two solo blocks in the loss. Kara slammed down a career-high 26 kills and had 23 digs in Pacific's 3-2 loss to UC Santa Barbara on Oct. 15. Uhl also had a career-high five assists in the match. Three weeks earlier, Kara laid down a career-high 27 digs in Pacific's 3-1 win over Cal State Northridge on Oct. 1. Uhl earned her first tournament award for her performance in the Nike Invitational on Sept. 2-3. In the three match tournament, Kara recorded 43 kills, earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team and leading Pacific to a 2-1 record in the three matches. In the first match of the season, Uhl notched her first career double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs in the Tigers' 3-1 loss to Virginia Commonwealth.<b>2004 (Freshman):</b><br>Uhl appeared in 49 games in 2004 for Pacific. Kara pounded a season-high four kills as Pacific swept UC Davis on Nov. 13. Kara also picked up her first career ace in that match. She recorded a season-high three aces against Utah State on Nov. 18. Two days later, Kara continued her stellar performance with a season-high 16 digs and two assists against Idaho on Nov. 20. She recorded her first career intercollegiate kill and block as the Tigers closed out the Tempe Buttes Invitational title with a four-game victory over Fordham on Sept. 12. Kara saw her first career intercollegiate action at No. 22 Santa Clara in the final match of the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational on Sept. 5, recording three digs.<b>High School/Club:</b><br>Uhl attended Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos, Calif., where she was a three-year volleyball letter winner. As a sophomore, she led the Griffins to the Sunset League finals and the CIF semifinals and earned All-Sunset League First Team and Offensive Player of the Year honors. Kara earned team MVP and Sunset League MVP honors as a junior, while leading her team to league and CIF titles and the second round of the CIF state championships. She earned All-CIF Second Team and all-state third team accolades her junior campaign. Uhl capped off her high school career by leading Los Alamitos HS to the state championship and earning state championship MVP distinction her senior campaign. She also earned All-Sunset League First Team, All-CIF First Team, All-Orange County First Team and all-state third team honors as a senior and was named the Los Alamitos HS and Sunset League Female Athlete of the Year. At the club level, Uhl was a member of the Mizuno Club Long Beach program. She led her 17 Open team to a silver medal finish at the 2003 Junior Olympics and was a Junior Olympic All-American in 2002. Kara participated at the U.S. A-2 Youth Camp, where she was honored with the Top Performer Award, and was the 18 & Under captain for the Bring It USA Australian Volleyball Tour. Academically, she was a member of the Los Alamitos HS Principal's Honor Roll.<b>Personal:</b><br>Kara Uhl is the daughter of George and Katherine Uhl. She has one brother, Geremy (24), who was a soccer goalkeeper at the University of San Francisco. Kara is a communication advertising major and art minor in her fifth year at Pacific.<b>Wade on Uhl:</b><br>"Kara is in the best shape of her life, she had a chance to strength train throughout the spring and summer, she is jumping better and hitting the ball real hard.
